Vintage Fur

A go-to look for me in the winter is a really simple outfit and a bold statement coat. It makes throwing an outfit together simple (when it's too cold to think) and then you don't feel like you're covering up a 'great' outfit with your coat. I love having plain turtlenecks for layering like this white one - I also just got this striped one that I'm obsessed with.
Over the past year I've become obsessed with rummaging through my family's old jewelry collections and closets. I'm pretty lucky that my grandparents let me take a lot of their stuff - the black onyx ring I wear everyday is my grandmothers, the signet ring in the last picture is my grandfathers, this jacket was my grandmothers when she was a teenager, and my grandpa has some really cool old school sweatshirts he let me take.
My great aunt Mimi was super stylish too, always flipping through clothing catalogs whenever I would visit her, and I was lucky enough to be handed down majority of her coats. I wear this one pretty much everyday, but I never pull her fur coat out of my closet because it's just such a treasure. I also don't wear it because everyone has an opinion of real fur and I don't want to hear it - but having a secondhand one is better than buying a new one. This particular one was made in Syracuse; it has her initials embroidered into the lining just to top off how perfect it is.
