Weekly Highlights

What a fun week I've had! Well, it was stressful school wise, but NYC life wise, very fun. I think I'm going to start a new 'segment' on The Gold Dime highlighting some of my favorite things from the past week! I didn't want to do a 'week in the life' because honestly somedays just include class, homework, eat and sleep. So here's what went down this past week.

My roommate and I both don't have class on Tuesdays so we ventured out to a consignment shop downtown that one of our favorite bloggers (WeWoreWhat) sells all her clothes. It was called Fillmore & Fifth down in Soho and was such a cool place. They had Tory Burch, Alexander Wang, Louboutins, and more higher end brands all super discounted. After that, we were starving so we went to Two Hands (which I have heard SO much about). We got some avo toast & acai bowls; literally the perfect lunch.

It was literally pouring rain this day, not so fun.

THE 1975 POP UP SHOP. This is such a fun but sad story to talk about. So if you didn't know,The 1975's new album came out this past Friday (INCREDIBLE go listen RIGHT NOW). They were in the city because Thursday they were on Fallon, so they decided to have a pop up shop in the Lower East Side to sell merch and literally just to hang out with fans all day. So my friend Gia, who's equally obsessed with them, and I met up around 11, downtown, to wait in line to see the band I've been obsessing over for over a year now. Long story short, we waited until about 3:30pm, in 35 degree weather (totally wasn't prepared), and we gave up because we still had 120ish people ahead of us and the boys were leaving at 4. It was really sad to not meet them but we still got to see the store which as SO aesthetic and had bright pink lights. I also loved talking to other people who really loved the band as much as me. So maybe some other time (their concert in May) I'll finally meet the one and only Matty Healy.

My friend who I went to high school with, Carly, asked me to go to the Top of the Rock with her! She's been at FIT 4 years and had never gone, so I was the perfect person to tag along since I hadn't either. I have to say, it's something you must do if you're in the city. It's incredible and honestly hard to fathom just how huge this city is.
After that, my roommate Sydney and I met up with our future roommate, Desirae, for some late brunch. We headed down to (and got lost on the way) Soho to go to Two Hands again. This place really has the best 'trendy', delicious food and the most iconic decor.

I got avocado toast with an egg and their acai bowl, THE BEST.

Hope you guys enjoyed this kind of post highlighting all my exciting events from the week, let me know with a comment!
